Man of the House: Are you BEING the MAN? #ManUp #ServantLeader ~

For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body (Eph 5:23)~~ A key flaw in the mindset of many husbands is that being the “head of the wife” or the “head of the house” means they possess some title of greatness because of their ‘manhood’ and they can live like some lavish king being served by his subjects and catered to by his minions! Even if the truth is not as far gone as the example, the point here cannot be stated better than by Jesus Himself: “Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant” (Mark 10:43).

Being the head of the household and/or the head of the wife means work, duty and great responsibility. The “head” is the one RESPONSIBLE for what happens in the house and in the marriage and in the family. Look at the verse again – yes, it says Christ is the head of the church, but He is also SAVIOR OF THE BODY! That means He is responsible for its well being! Think about your body! Through your head comes what makes the body work! Through the eyes you see where your body is going. Through your ears, you hear what your mind and body respond to. Through your nose, you breathe what keeps your body full of oxygen to live. Through your mouth, you eat what nourishes the body. The head has the MOST to actually DO to keep the body going!!

Husbands, you cannot enjoy the privileges of “headship” and not be willing to shoulder the responsibilities that come with it. Being in the role of ‘leader’ doesn’t mean you get to sit and dictate and be served – in fact, you are to serve and MOST OF THE TIME you will serve more than you will BE served! You can’t franchise, subcontract or outsource your husband responsibilities without hurting your wife and your marriage. You are accountable to God for the physical and spiritual welfare of your family. Make your wife’s life easier by carrying all of your responsibilities dutifully. Your wife was not created to carry out her role and yours at the same time. Your wife should not live like a widow while you are still alive. You are the man, the CEO, Priest, Provider and Protector of the family. Act like it. Be involved, be present, take charge, work hard, pray, plan and execute. Above all “husbands”, remember that your wife is your suitable helper, but you are her servant! Let her thank God that she is married to you! You are the “head” but are you “heading”? You are the MAN but are you BEING the man?

NO Relationship Abuse is Justifiable or Deserved #StopDomesticViolence ~

The Lord tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates (Ps 11:5); Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them (Col 3:19)~~ Husbands (men in relationships – and from here on I’m sure you get my drift) when you said “I do”, it wasn’t just saying you would take this woman….(you know the rest), but you vowed in the sight of God to be what He calls a husband to be. While we cannot be perfect in our own effort, in Him we achieve righteousness and upright standing. The woman whose hand you took – Consider she is your wife; your own; the nearest relation you have in the world. You forsook your mother and father as part of God’s plan to be joined into a single flesh according to God’s will. Your wife is to be looked on, enot as a servant; not as a subject; not as a target of aggression or anger and certainly not as a burden of any kind, but as a help, love and companion. There is an oath of God between you, which is not to be trifled with. Man and wife should continue to their lives’ end, in holy love and peace. Submission is the duty of the wife. But it is submission, not to a severe Lord or stern tyrant, but to her own husband, who is engaged to AFFECTIONATE duty. And husbands must love their wives with tender and faithful affection!! It is NOT OK for one spouse to commit violence against the other. It’s something God hates. If you are doing this to your spouse, YOU ARE WRONG and if you can’t control yourself, then GET HELP. If this is being done to you by your spouse, then GET OUT! If you are a victim of abuse in your marriage, PLEASE don’t be fooled into thinking that you “deserve it” There is NO JUSTIFICATION WHATSOEVER that makes it okay to resort to violence of any kind or any physical and verbal abuse. God does not condone a marriage of abuse, or violence. The Bible says that he who loves his wife loves himself. There is no love in abuse – for each other or oneself.

Why Should We #Praise The Lord? – Well, WHY NOT???

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together. (Ps 34:1-3)~~ Why praise the Lord? We could just say “Why Not?” But seriously… what is the big thing about praise? When we bring our sacrifices of praise, thanksgiving and joy to God, we are telling Him that we wish to die to our own desires and knowledge, and we desire to love and trust Him completely. It is in the holy atmosphere of praise and worship that healing, miracles and transformation of the soul begin to manifest, and God’s glory starts cleansing and changing our carnal nature into the nature and character of Christ. We are literally praying with our heart, soul and spirit. The result is always an impartation of God’s infinite blessings, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. When you truly understand this truth you will begin to regain and restore all that Satan has stolen from you. Demons cannot resist the praise of the children of God. They are in fact confused by it… ‘how could they be praising God when all hell is being brought against them??’ The answer is because when we praise, we are expressing our faith in the knowledge that if God is for us, nothing could prevail against us! When you feel discouraged, and a spirit of confusion tries to invade your thinking, if you begin to offer a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving you will find that the peace of God will cover you as a shield of protection and the angel of the Lord will encamp all around you and deliver you (Ps 34:7). SO – – Let everything that has breath… praise the Lord!

You Might Not Want to Hear Gods Word But #UGonLearn2Day ~

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; (Rom 1:28)~ let’s face it, some people just don’t want to hear it, and their ‘mission’ seems to be to tear you and your faith down. You offer them the highest, and they counter with the lowest, content to remain in the muck as swine do. It is strange that a man can be in a sinful, miserable condition, and not be concerned or even aware of it, as that a man should have a beam in his eye, and not consider it; they are quick to call out a fault of yours but themselves remain faultless in their own sight…the god of this world blinds their minds. They refuse to lift up, and in choosing to continue a conversation, there is no place for you to go but down. Don’t stoop to ignorance! Rather than arguing with them over the most beautiful of truths, it is OK, even preferred, to just leave them alone. In those cases, the faithful Holy Spirit will enact His will on those lost and brutal souls. Your duty is to pray for them and move on! You might not be trying to hear God’s Word, but ultimately you’re gonna learn! God has spoken His Peace and His Promise has been made – we have to choose – if our souls are lost, it’s no one’s fault but our own!!

Living Your #BestLife is All About Perspective ~>

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate (Titus 1:15-16); The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts (Ps 10:4)~~ Even natural and apparently innocent activities that are duties of God and nature become sin when done by a person with a wicked heart. Even following a plow, a duty of man to feed himself, is sin when it is done by a wicked man. Why is this true? Because wicked people trust in themselves and rely on their own abilities and follow their own rules; they are unthankful and ever dissatisfied with everything about their situation- seeming to seek the negative point of view about everything; and pursue their own greed and pride, rather than the glory of their Creator. God is not in all their thoughts, but becomes important as a matter of convenience. They use His creation for their own selfish ends. They have no regard for Him or His precepts. They ignore Him constantly and reject Him when confronted.

Consider this: Before plowing, a righteous man thanks God for his and his ox’s health, sunshine, last night’s rain, the acres he owns, the opportunity to work, God’s mercy to sinners, and the hope of eternal life. While plowing, he meditates on the ox’s strength, the smell of the soil, the miracle of plant growth, the Lord’s goodness, and begs Divine mercy for more rain and greater grace. He wipes sweat away and thanks Heaven for the body’s cooling system. At the day’s end, he gives seed to a neighbor, takes a chicken to the preacher, thanks the Lord for a blessed day, reads his Bible, confesses his sins, and loves his wife.

Now in comparison consider the following: Before plowing, a wicked man complains about the fact he has only one ox, the lack of sunshine last month, the mud from last night’s rain, the farm next door he wishes he owned, the death of his father last winter, the burden of taxes, and how life is hard. While plowing, he dreams of making more money than his brother, beating his neighbor for local councilman, and of how strong and successful he has become. Twice he swears at the sun for making the day so hot. At the day’s end, he sends the borrowing neighbor away empty, kills two chickens to glut himself, complains about how hard he worked, reads the Police Gazette, and goes to sleep thinking of his neighbor’s wife.

How do you approach your daily life? Is your heart right with God, leading to humble looks and a Godly perspective and purpose in all that you do or are you focused on how to live up to some worldly standard? Do you seek to give God the glory in all you do or are you only focused on how you can win and what credit or recognition you get? Rather than being a complainer about what you see as missing in your life, richly enjoy the life He has given you, gratefully and humbly thanking Him for every pleasure. Work hard, love your spouse and family, and live as He directs you. When we get in the right perspective about life, we actually enjoy the blessings in our lives rather than despising our circumstances while in pursuit of what we don’t have. Many will call it “determined” and “focused” and “relentless”; and man’s admiration of those qualities attribute the drive to seeking a better life; But when you despise the life of blessings you have, the grace and mercy God has shown you, that tireless “pursuit of happiness” does nothing more than make you … tired! Remember, God’s plan doesn’t promise you everything you ‘want’ but what He does bless you with is more valuable than what you could obtain without Him. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths (Prov 3:6).

The Lord – Is – My – Shepherd #JehovahRohi ~

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want (Ps 23:1)~~ He is the LORD over all; He governs the affairs of our lives and is in control. Even though it may be over our heads, it’s still under His feet! He is omnipotent – having all power! Seeing all, and knowing all – even before we know of it or need of it. The Lord IS omnipresent! His ‘IS-ness’ declares a state of constant existence and presence, without limitation, in all time and place – there is no ‘was’ nor ‘shall be’.. no here nor there; in all – God IS. The Lord is MY (our) shepherd and we are HIS sheep – He is Lord over us – to chasten and correct us that we should obey Him and let Him direct our paths to His paths of righteousness. The Lord is our SHEPHERD – our provider and protector giving us His life that we may have life abundantly (John 10:10-11); not to worry about what comes against us nor what we shall have. We are completely and eternally satisfied in Him. Jehovah-Rohi: our good shepherd – He is Lord ‘through’ all, He is Lord ‘over’ all, He is Lord ‘of’ all!

When You Come To Yourself, You Can Come Out Of It #Repent ~

And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him (Luke 15:17-20)~ No matter how far anyone has wandered away from God, no matter how deep we have gone into sin, whenever we come to ourselves… and we turn around… (definition of repent), God is right there to receive us with open arms! God doesn’t care what we’ve done in our past! He only cares about what we’re doing right now and what we will do in our future! Thanks to the finished work of Jesus, no one ever has to be lost because of their past sins. We are only lost because we will not surrender (stop), repent (turn around), and accept (go back to) what Jesus has done for us.

If you have strayed away in your life, just stop, turn around and come back to the Lord! YES, it’s that simple…no working it off, earning forgiveness or proving yourself worthy! Christ has done the work, by Grace He has forgiven us. We in our guilt tend to feel like we’re not worthy of His grace, but the devil is a LIE!!! My friend, we’re SO worthy that Jesus gave His life to prove it! YOU are restored in relationship and covenant; redeemed of everything that separated you and reconciled to FULL authority and inheritance as a child of the Lord! God is eagerly awaiting you and will see you from Heaven as soon as you COME TO YOURSELF and turn around to return to Him and He will draw you back to Him and in His mercy (James 4:8), He will meet you on the way – and what a meeting that is! Don’t stay away friend! God has the light from Heaven focused on you – waiting for you to come to yourself, to turn around and come Home! He’s telling you to just come on back!

– When You Come To Yourself, You Can Come Out Of It! –

Nothing Like #Wisdom To Teach You Through Life’s Challenges! ~>

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness (James 1:2-3); Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him (James 1:12)~ The crown of life is promised to all who have the love of God reigning in their hearts. Every soul that truly loves God, is rich in faith in Him; steadfast and unmovable; and shall have its trials in this world fully recompensed in that world above, where love is made perfect. Let us then that are this rich in faith, rejoice in the grace of God, which makes and keeps us humble; and in the trials and exercises which teach us to seek happiness in and from God. We should not pray so much for the removal of affliction, as for wisdom to make a right use of it. Who does not want wisdom to guide him under trials, both in regulating his own spirit, and in managing his affairs; and answer to every discouraging turn of the mind? This wisdom is what we receive when we go to God under a sense of our own weakness and folly and fully depend on Him. So my friend, Instead of complaining to or about God under our trials, let us open our ears and hearts to learn what He teaches by them. After all… Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from God. Nothing like wisdom to guide you through life’s challenges! Wisdom teaches us what to do when those trials hit… now you can look forward to the gift God is about to give you; AND wisdom teaches you that even in trials you get to make the devil mad and confused because praising God in trials leaves the enemy dumbfounded! Knowing that I will praise EVERY chance I get!

Shhh!!! Did You Hear That?#StillSmallVoice ~>

And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. (1 Kings 19:11-12)~~ The clashing cymbals of our failures and the loud trumpeting of our successes can drown out what we are looking for to bless and guide our lives. We’re running, always in some activity and some form of ‘busy-ness’ – trying to succeed – trying to solve life’s issues – trying to figure it all out; doing this, listening to that, being here but trying to get there… and all the while, God is blessing us but we never see it! Why? Because we’re so busy hearing all of the hustle and bustle of life that we never “hear” what we should be listening to. We are constantly looking for God’s interaction with us – that big, huge, monumental blessing that would instantly change our lives. But with all of the noise going on around us, we miss out on God’s still small voice. So often we miss our blessings because we are looking for the big things when God is speaking through small things. It’s time for us to quiet our hearts to listen for Him as we meditate on His Word. There is SO much that God wants each of us to know about Him and how He loves us but we have to stop for a moment and just be at peace with letting Him have things! God talks to those of calm heart & mind, you will hear nothing, unless you meet God in tranquil surroundings. Stop keeping up all that noisy busy-ness, going back and forth and listening to portions of this truth and that lie. Stop facing all of your life’s challenges with whining fussing and complaining. Psalm 46:10 reminds us to “be still” and know that He is God.

Your #Mood Is Your Choice! No Excuses! ~>

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you (Eph 4:29-32)~ Have you ever heard someone talking about they can’t help being the way they are – that the circumstances of their life’s history and other people make them bitter and resentful and unkind and moody toward others? Okay…being very frank here…that’s a lame and lazy excuse to be able to hold on to that negative attitude.

Being negative, bitter and cynical; saying ‘no’ to a positive light affords one the opportunity to just say ‘no’ and sit there with their arms folded and their lip stuck out and they don’t have to do anything else…. they get to be ugly and do nothing… and yes, they ‘could’ help it… they CHOSE to be bitter! There are plenty of us that have tough lives (man born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble – Job 14:1). Being kind though is the CHOICE that God wants us to make. Kindness is a CHOICE we get to make to share what we have with someone in need. It’s a CHOICE to encourage someone with a sincere compliment. God cares just that much how we treat each other. In Matthew 25:31-40, Jesus talks about people’s treatment of one another; and since He lives in us, what we do to each other we in turn do to Him (Matt 25:40).

Thinking about it then: As you flaunt around your bad mood at people, would you carry such a nasty disposition to our Lord? As you cuss out that person, would you cuss Jesus that way? As you abuse that person, would you abuse our Savior that way? How do you have it within you to mistreat that person and the Son of God so brutally? All lying, and corrupt language, that stir up evil desires and lusts, grieve the Spirit of God. Corrupt passions of bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, evil-speaking, and malice, provoke the Holy Spirit. We should beware of all such demeanor. Ask God to help you make the CHOICE to be kind, especially when you don’t feel like it. It is our duty to seek, by the blessing of God, to bring others to think truthfully, seriously and positively; and to encourage others by our conversation; not belittle and tear them down with ridicule and disrespect. Being kind one to another sets forth the principle of love in the heart, and the outward expression of it, in a humble, courteous behavior. Would you want other people to treat you that way? Would you want Jesus to be treated that way? Talk about tough lives… Jesus was TOTALLY innocent but HE took on the burden of sins for the WORLD… Yet HE loves everybody!!! Choose your Mood!
