Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that He might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish (Eph 5:25-27)~~ The man who sanctifies his wife understands that this is his divinely ordained responsibility… fellas, if you’re wearing that ring, think about your answers to these questions: Is my wife more like Christ because she is married to me – does she see Him IN me? Or is she like Christ in spite of me – running to Him trying to get away from me? Has she shrunk from His likeness because of me? Do I sanctify her or hold her back? Is she a better woman because she is married to me or would she be better off without me? All egos aside, men, we DO have a “responsibility” about how we impact our wives – (and if we’re not impacting them, we have a problem!). And women, even the “independent” ones (this ain’t about you not needing a man for something, it’s about God’s plan in marriage), you ARE impacted by us, believe it or not, like it or not. But, Husbands, where do you stand? Are you REALLY doing your thing or are you just doing YOU? Are you the MAN God intends you to be in that marriage or are you just the man in that marriage?
