Ask And You Shall Receive; Don’t Be Afraid, Only #Believe ~

More than 2000 years ago, a man named Jairus came to Jesus with an urgent request.  He said, “My little daughter is dying.  Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.” While Jesus was on the way to the house of Jairus, some men came and said, “Your daughter is dead.  Why bother the teacher any more?” Overhearing and ignoring their message, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; only believe.” When Jesus arrived at the house, Jesus saw a commotion with mourners crying and wailing loudly.  Jesus said, “Why all this commotion and wailing?  The child is not dead but asleep.”  The mourners laughed at him. Jesus entered the child’s room, took her by the hand, and healed her (Mark 5:23-42)~ Jesus gave us the pattern for dealing with the challenges that we face in life: (1) When we overhear naysayers and negative thinkers reciting their litany of limitations, we are to ignore their message. Don’t listen to people shackled by disbelief who want to drag you down to their level. Nothing good comes from listening to negative thinking; (2) No matter what happens, we are not to give in to fear. Jesus said that all things are possible to him who believes. Are you going to listen to the voice of fear, or to what Jesus says?  All things are possible when you ignore fear’s limiting voice; (3) We are to believe and place our faith in God who is the source of our life. We must know that all is possible with Him and faith must rule our days. Impossible is not in God’s vocabulary, and it shouldn’t be in yours; (4) Don’t let the laughter and mocking of unbelievers discourage you or stop you in your tracks. If you do that, you will be listening to the wrong thing. Instead, listen to God’s voice of possibility and love. God has a purpose and plan for your life that is better than anything you can imagine. There is no limit to how good your life can become when you open your heart and mind to the power of his love. Your destiny is to have the last laugh, and that laugh will last for eternity; (5) Get in agreement with God and let Him work things out. God loves to work miracles in the lives of His children. Ask for a miracle every minute of every day. Jesus said, “Ask, and you will receive.” Don’t be afraid; only believe!!

Time to DO better so we can DO better #NoMediocrity #GetUp ->

And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for you serve the Lord Christ (Col 3:23-24)~ Today’s society accepts mediocrity as the norm. People do as little as they can to get by, always looking for the easy way out, the quick payoff, the favor and the hookup. They simply go to work to pick up a paycheck, then wonder why they’re not promoted. Men and women in marriages take the attitude that as long as they’re THERE, the rest will work out, then we end up in divorce court over infidelity and ‘irreconcilable differences’. We embrace ignorant behavior and then wonder why our situations are so out of control! We get all of our learning from Social Media and then wonder how we can be uneducated and misinformed. Parents let Cell Phones, X-Box, and Hip-Hop teach their kids about life, and ask ‘why’ when they’re disrespecting us, when we’re getting them out of jail or burying them! We follow actors and entertainers on Facebook and Instagram, looking wisdom from anybody who will gather a large crowd of supporters, without any moral consideration, party all night on Saturday, sleep in and watch the game on Sunday… And we don’t even know our Lord and Savior! We all need to do better!!! Whatever we do, we should be doing it to the BEST of our ability. Each of us has a higher and very attainable potential, but we must set higher standards! We can’t settle for average effort and expect stellar results! GET UP!!!! You know better, so do better so you can DO better!

We Ignore God to Have Our Own Way; Now Our Own Way is Having Us #Consequences –

A great Proverb advises us: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil” (Prov 3:5-7).

In latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron (1 Tim 4:1-2). For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables (2 Tim 4:3-4). But rather than hear the Word of God as it truly is –  we decided to go our own way – developing our own mindsets, giving in to worldly ways and looking for validation to justify our ways – even from those that create their own “custom” version of Christianity and rather than preach Truth, only tell us what feels good and gives us no accountability to anything but our own way!

SO – As a result… Since we want to do it OUR WAY

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient… Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them (Rom 1:28,32).

YES – Since we like to have it our way, God is letting our way have us…

In the moral corruption of “the world”, the truth of our Lord’s words was shown: “Light was come into the world, but men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil; for he that doeth evil hateth the light.” The truth was not to their taste. And we all know how a man will contrive, against the strongest evidence, to reason himself out of the belief of what he dislikes. But a man cannot be brought to greater slavery than to be given up to his own lusts. Rather than keep God in their knowledge, people commit crimes wholly against reason and their own welfare and justify it by the need for desires and satisfactions of their own mind and flesh. The nature of man, whether pagan or Christian, is still the same; and these charges apply more or less to the state and character of man at all times, till they are brought to full submission to the faith of Christ, and renewed by Divine power. There never yet was a man, who had not reason to lament his strong corruptions, and his secret dislike to the will of God. Therefore rather than pushing the belief that God “causes” the calamities of our time as judgement, we must realize that much of our disastrous situation is the result of sin in the world, whether ours personally or the long term result of human ideology. No matter how we reason, interpret or justify what we say is good for us because it make us ‘feel good’ or appeals to some percentage of the ‘masses’ – God’s word, in it’s entirety and verbatim, is THE word; the ONLY word; and anything that opposes, contradicts or challenges it, is flat out.. sin! We are all called to self-examination, the end of which should be, a deep conviction of sin, and of the necessity of deliverance from a state of condemnation that is the result of human actions rather than Godly judgement. Stop buying into the lies of the enemy: God is not CAUSING the bad things to happen; He’s just allowing the consequences of our own mindsets, ways and actions…. to take place!

BUT GOD – Like the Father of the Prodigal Son, He will always have us back. As Jesus bore the punishment for our evil ways, that we may be reconciled to God – May we be drawn and driven to Him; our refuge and salvation!!

You’ve Made it Through – Now #Rest and Praise the Lord!

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made (Gen 2:2)~  TGI…Saturday!

As we come to the end of this week it’s typical to look back and reflect on what it has been. We feel a sense of accomplishment over what we’ve gotten done this week; we feel a sense of relief that the week is over and we’re (generally) DONE with whatever mission we’ve been on. Whatever we attribute to the ‘end’ we are grateful that some form of labor is behind us and some form of stress can be put down for a minute. Even if you have to continue your work on Saturday and/or even Sunday, there’s something about coming to the end of your ‘work week’ whenever it is. What’s important is that you take that time to break from it and see where you’ve come from; you rest from your works just as God did from His. In His honor, rest in His finished works in Christ that have created your coming eternity! Above all, reverence Him for He is the light at the end of the tunnel, the source of life, righteousness and peace – all glory and honor is His! May we be always grateful because we have walked through the valley of the shadow of death many a time and He has never been away from us, but has always gone before us, walked with us and even carried us! After all that we’ve COME THROUGH we’re still standing! Let your victory leading up to today be your encouragement of what God will do for you going forward; never leaving or forsaking you, but giving you a lesson in every experience. Abide in His teachings and learn and surrender to His will. We have an opportunity to praise Him because of what He has done already; even if not one more thing is done because after six days, God ceased from all works of creation. In miracles, he has overruled nature, but never changed its settled course, or added to it. Everything is already done that we may rest in Him! As you rest this ‘week end’ may your heart know a joy beyond what earth can afford; may God rejoice over you, and the joy of our compassionate Savior be completed. Praise the Lord!

The Arc of the Moral Universe Is Long, But it Bends Toward #Justice

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart (Gal 6:9); And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise (Heb 6:15)~~ And so I plead with you this day as we go ahead: remain committed to nonviolence. Our aim must never be to defeat or humiliate the other man, but to win his friendship and understanding. We must come to see that the end we seek is a society at peace with itself, a society that can live with its conscience. And that will be a day not of the white man, not of the black man. That will be the day of man as man. I know you are asking today, “How long will it take?” Somebody’s asking, “How long will prejudice blind the visions of men, darken their understanding, and drive bright-eyed wisdom from her sacred throne?” Somebody’s asking, “When will wounded justice, lying prostrate on the streets be lifted from this dust of shame to reign supreme among the children of men?” Somebody’s asking, “When will the radiant star of hope be plunged against the nocturnal bosom of this lonely night, plucked from weary souls with chains of fear and the manacles of death? How long will justice be crucified, and truth bear it?” However difficult the moment, however frustrating the hour, it will not be long, because “truth crushed to earth will rise again. How long? Not long, because no lie can live forever. How long? Not long, because you shall reap what you sow. How long? Not long because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice. (Martin Luther King, Jr.).

There is so much going on in life today that it makes us constantly wonder IF, much less when things will get better. May God’s Word encourage and remind us to hang in there; to continue doing the right things and trusting Him through the process. There is a great promise that He has for us and God has never failed or gone back on a promise. We are ensured that as we patiently endure what we go through, not losing heart, that our light affliction is for but a moment but in His promise, we are being setup for a far exceeding weight of eternal glory! Yes, this “stuff” is light in God’s eyes and we are best to remember that because if we trust in Him and leave it to Him, we have peace knowing that it’s nothing He can’t handle! It may take a while, it may seem to be lifelong, but all things work together for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose! Trust! Believe! While we wait it out, God is working it out!

Amen! Even so, come, Lord Jesus! (Rev 22:20)

Life May Seem Out of Control, Don’t Let it Beat You! #LetGoLetGod ~

Let GoD

Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s (2 Chr 20:15); And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Rom 8:28)~~  …if you know everything will work out in the end then why do you worry in the midst? Don’t worry anymore. Don’t stress about what you can’t control. Control what you can control; that’s your emotions and your effort. Do what you can do and let God do the rest. Let God show you why He’s God. Let God do what man can’t do. Let God be real in your life. Don’t get mad. Don’t curse Him. Don’t forsake Him – He won’t forsake you. God meets our needs over and over again, especially on the days we need it most and sometimes to the exact point that we want, but always to the exact point that we need. You can call it the law of attraction. You can call it “the Universe.” You can call it happenstance, coincidence, destiny, fate, luck, or whatever else you want to call it…  But I call it GOD – Nothing more, nothing less, just God!!! When you trust and believe and praise Him even through the pain, He shows up and shows out and lets you know that you’re not here alone. You are fearfully and wonderfully created and no matter what your intellect, you can’t imagine the heights nor the depths of God. So stop trying to figure Him out and just let God be God.. I dare you to try it… Trust Him…whole heartedly.. and I promise you He won’t fail you!! There are those that want to pound their chest and say “I” got this and “I” will do this and later on they’re sitting around going “I” am stressed, “I” am in over my head and “I” am tired! But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isa 40:31). Stop trying to be your own hero. You don’t need to prove anything to anyone – and you sure don’t need to be worried about how much is coming down on you! In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus  (Phil 4:6-7) and in all of this craziness going on around you, Let Go – Let God! Stand still and see His salvation!

No Matter How Dark it Gets – #Faith Lights the Way! ~

Faith Light

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1)~

Now is the time in all of our lives when we need faith. Now is the time when we can’t see what’s ahead but we must go anyway. It’s in that darkness where we must trust our inner Light. It’s in that darkness where God makes us grow. It’s in that darkness where we become the person we were born to be. Faith always happens in the place where one cannot see. A faith walk is like a blind walk, it’s dark. You have to keep pushing forward with the belief that everything will work out in your favor. While in the situation, your thoughts will shape the darkness. If you allow yourself to be consumed by the darkness, it will stop you. But if you shift your thoughts to those of powerful assertions, made by the Light of Christ within , you’ll illuminate the darkness and you will come out on the other side like brand new.

We all have gone through rough seasons in our lives (If you feel like you haven’t, just keep living!). We’ve been tested from every angle. You have to know that it isn’t meant to break you, but to build you. Yes, you may want to give in and give up but instead you have to decide to shift your thoughts. Begin to think about the peace in the midst of the storm. Begin to think about the other side of defeat. Illuminate the darkness with the Light that God has placed in you… (His Word!) and your days will begin to change. Out of nowhere your breakthrough will come. The adversary will flee because you will beat him down. Your trials will become triumphs and your life will open up.

No matter how hard things get, in FAITH claim victory in the midst of challenge until you receive victory. Your thoughts and words of faith can shift the atmosphere. Your Walk in faith can shift your life. I encourage you today to keep walking on through that dark tunnel. You may not see the light at the end, but know that it’s there. Let the light inside of you guide you! Illuminate the darkness with His word in your thoughts and you will see things begin to change. Don’t give in. Don’t give up. It’s a dark world out there.. let Faith shine the Light to show you the way! There’s only one way out and that’s forward…in Faith!

Life’s Storms Might Toss You About, But in #Faith You Can Walk on Water-

But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves:for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt (Matt 14:24-31)~~ Christ had Peter come, not only that he might walk upon the water, and so know his Lord’s power, but that he might know his own weakness. And the Lord often lets us have our choice, and our ‘sinking’ to humble and prove us, to let us realize our limitations, and to show the greatness of His power and grace. When we look off from Christ, and look at the greatness of our opposing difficulties, we shall begin to fall; but when we call to Him, He will stretch out His arm, and save us. Christ is the great Savior; and those who would be saved, must come to Him, and cry to Him for salvation. We are never brought to this point until we find ourselves sinking in the confidence of our own choices. It is then that the sense of need drives us to Him. Christ rebuked Peter. If we could just believe more, we would suffer less. The weakness of faith, and the prevailing of our doubts, displease our Lord, for there is no good reason why Christ’s disciples should be of a doubtful mind. Indeed without faith it is impossible to please God. In the worst of stormy days He is to us a very present help! Situations in your life can be like you’re in that tiny ship in a vast ocean getting tossed and blown all over the place. God keeps you in this storm but He is always right there for you to reach out to. Keep your focus on Him and don’t be too proud to cry out for Him! He won’t calm the storm but if you’ll just believe in Him, in the midst of the storm you’ll be walking on water!!!

Real #Faith Makes You Move ~

And the Lord shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you this day and are watchful to DO them (Deut 28:13)~~ Yes, we are saved by grace, not by our works, but that doesn’t mean we can just go do or be whatever. God intends that we WALK in a certain destiny, here on earth as well as in our lives in eternity. It all starts with DOING His will …as we pray every day (Thy will be DONE on Earth as it is in Heaven). When we DO what He wants us to do, we walk in the destiny He promises. But doing what we are supposed to do requires us to DO…not stand by expecting a handout nor sit there wallowing in our mess or hoarding what blessings we do have. The reason so many believers are yet to walk in promises and provisions from God is because like an ostrich they have their head in the sand . . . afraid to take action or a stand or a risk; Content to hide themselves from life and everybody passing them by. The problem with having your head in the sand means you’re living by the seat of your pants… you’ve exposed another part of your body for life to kick you in it. God wants you to be the head. . .so you’ll use it… so you’ll lead with it, so you’ll walk in a renewed mind; Not the tail because He doesn’t want you just sitting on it and Certainly not kicked in It! This is where people get confused about God’s blessing…Thinking they should be blessed so they can sit there and HAVE it and look at it. God doesn’t bless us so that we can stand there and hold it. You should be about His business…Every day. . .not just on Sunday or Wednesday night. . .or when you get in trouble or when you feel like it . . . but every day. . .Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. (Hab 2:2)…God’s Word is the written vision and will tell you what to DO. He will instruct you plain and clear on how to accomplish the vision. . .the dreams. . .the goals. . .He has birthed within you. Every day. . .we should look with faith and expectation for His blessing and His direction. . .but then the key to unlocking the blessing is to WALK in the faith. READ YOUR BIBLE and see what the promise is…and run with it! DO what it says and be blessed….and be a blessing!!

We’re Getting Too Big For Our Britches! #BeHumble –

The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day (Isa 2:11); It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver (Ps 117:71-72); ~~ We are most apt to wander from God, when we are easy in the world; proud and full of the world, and its wealth and pleasures; making us senseless, secure, and stupid. God visits His people with affliction, that they may learn his statutes. Sometimes we have to be brought down from our own pedestal and we have gotten so high and mighty that it literally takes God to do it. We all must take a careful look at ourselves. Have we gotten so successful, so rich, so secure in ourselves that God isn’t important anymore?? Have we come to the conclusion that we can live for ourselves and we’ll look for God when WE have a problem big enough for Him to solve? One thing for sure, we’ve definitely decided that God’s ways are too restrictive and don’t let us be what WE want to be! When will we realize it’s not about US? We all have a serious need to watch ourselves…that we don’t become too “self-reliant” and just set God aside. We are not greater in any way than Him and He will deal with us and our ways. Whomever exalts himself shall be brought low! However God deals with us, in Grace and Mercy, He deals with us better than we deserve; and all in love, and for our good. Many of us have knowledge, but little judgment; those who have both, are fortified against the snares of the enemy, and furnished for the service of God… We should therefore leave our concerns to the disposal of God, seeing He knows better what is good for us. Not only God’s promises, but even His law, His precepts, though hard to ungodly men, are desirable, and profitable, because they lead us with safety and delight unto eternal life. God is our bountiful Benefactor; driving our hearts to faith and obedience. Better to be chastised by The Lord than blessed by the world!
