#Resist The Ignorance; Walk Away From Foolish Talk! –

Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit (Prov 26:4-5) ~ No man can tame the tongue and there are many that pride themselves in not even trying to. There are those that make it their life’s mission to verbally degrade, disrespect and demoralize others. They will say anything just to get a rise out of someone else. This is their ego “stage”. The reaction they get simply feeds into it and encourages them to evolve in their self-promotion.  Rather than feed into foolishness, see that you don’t repay evil with evil! Don’t stoop to their level of ignorance just to answer or rebuke them. Sometimes the best way to deal with and shut down people like this is to ignore them. One thing a grandstander loves is an audience. Don’t give them one and eventually they’ll exit stage left! Give no place to the devil; Resist the devil and he will flee.

What God Does About It Is Good Enough – #Grace –

For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And He said unto me, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me (2 Cor 12:8-9)~ We all have that ‘thing’ that is the thorn of our side, that problem or issue or ailment or condition; that we WISH God would take away. But if you’ve lived at all you know by now that you typically don’t see that prayer answered IN THE WAY YOU’D LIKE it answered. In fact, you’ve probably asked WHY does God allow this to be! The Bible tells us that “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble” (Job 14:1). This is our reminder that trials and challenges are a part of our life. It’s common to hear folks say “trials come to strengthen you”. So what strength do I get from having that ‘thing’ in my life???

God allows these trials that we may trust His Grace! He tells us His Grace is sufficient but our response has to be to TRUST in that Grace. In our selfishness, we (and I know at some point you have done it) ask, ‘Why doesn’t He just remove the pain, problem, condition or issue?’. Here’s your answer: If He removes the ‘thing’ we forget about the Grace and our dependence on Him! If the ‘thing’ stays with us, we come to keep our mind stayed on HIM, which is where we get our perfect peace! We learn to trust the Grace more and more and when you do something more and more, you get better at it. What better thing to get ‘better’ at than loving, trusting and depending on the God that gives us that grace to trust in? What better thing to have on you to get you through those ‘things’ than the Power of Christ? The Lord we serve and trust, is God alone. All that God has said is plain, satisfactory, and just. We may not feel comfort with the ‘thing’, but His Grace is enough to get us through it, and He will keep us in His perfect peace if we depend and trust in Him. As God in His word calls us to seek Him and depend on Him, so He has never denied believing prayers, nor disappointed believing expectations. But He gives us Grace sufficient, and comfort and satisfaction of soul.

Even Though We Mess Up, God Never Gives Up On Us #Relentless –

For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable (Rom 11:29)~ We already know that God’s forgiveness; His extension of grace is a gift. And looking up ‘irrevocable’ we find the meaning: “not able to be changed, reversed, or recovered; final.” So thinking about God’s love, grace, mercy and forgiveness – His greatest gifts to us as not able to be changed, reversed or recovered; and final; what a joy it is to be a recipient of these gifts! Yet how many of us just can’t seem to fathom being loved at such an infinite level! True, no person can love this deeply – but we are talking about God here. Friend, we need to be sure to never discount God’s forgiveness of us! When God forgives you, if you don’t force yourself to believe and then reinforce the behavior that accords with the fact that God’s forgiveness is full and free, you will constantly be taunted by the sneaky whispers of Satan. “Well now, ‘Christian’… You might as well just count your blessings and forget about being used by God anymore! He doesn’t use screw-ups! He’s done with you! Just go be a decent person, and forget about those foolish dreams you had of thinking you could be of some great use to God!” But yes, the devil is a lie! Sometimes it takes failing royally to realize that God’s love is so incredibly real. You are of IMMEASURABLE value to the Lord; God’s love for you is INFINITE. It is a love that caused Him to sacrifice His only begotten Son for you. His love, His grace, His mercy, His forgiveness are all absolutely 100% irrevocably full and free! It must be that way because there is NOTHING you can do to pay for that salvation! If you could pay something, even the slightest portion of it, then Christ’s death would be purposeless! Besides, even if 99.999% of your failures were taken off of your account it would still leave enough for you to spend eternity in hell. So friend, understand and believe: You have the victory! Do not let any placing of the devil make you discount by any portion the complete forgiveness of God that is yours ‘completely’ today and forever! That’s right, forever.. God doesn’t go back on His promise… even if we go back on ours! He is not a man that He should lie; nor the son of man, that He should turn back from the direction in which He set out. He said He would do these things – Trust Him, He’ll make good on it! And if you don’t believe me, then ask Peter–you know, the guy Jesus spoke to named Simon? You know, the man who denied Christ three times, and then through God’s forgiveness and restoration, became the Rock on which He built His church (Matt 16:18)?

Where Does YOUR #Faith Come From? –

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Rom 10:17)~

Faith isn’t something that we do or build up in ourselves.  Rather, it’s something that God, the author and finisher of our faith (Heb 12:2) does to us when we suspend our disbelief and place our trust in Him.  People are always asking how they can have more faith.  They believe that they somehow need to pump themselves up so that they have more faith.  They believe that faith comes from their own doing. They are wrong.

Faith comes from trusting in what God says.  When you have a close personal relationship with the Father, you have all the faith you need.  It’s comes with the relationship. Without a close personal relationship with God, we don’t understand His plan, and our hearts are full of fear.  When our fellowship with God becomes up close and personal, for the first time we understand His plan, and we put our faith in it.  We know that if we follow His plan, nothing can happen to us until the plan has run its full course.  Once we have faith in His plan, we no longer have any reason to fear.

Faith naturally flows into your heart when you trust God..  Faith is a product of trust, and fear is a product of distrust.  When you trust God to take you through the storms of life, faith naturally wells up in your heart and your Spirit.  You don’t need to muster your faith.  It’s not something you do.  Faith happens to you, because God puts it in your heart and mind when you trust Him.

Faith empowers God to do the things for you that you can’t do for yourself.  You can’t pull yourself up by your own spiritual bootstraps.  No matter how hard you try, you can’t be born spiritually without God’s help.  Only God can make your spirit come alive.

Faith makes it possible for God to work in your life.  It happens when you open your heart to God’s love and become one of His children. The power of God’s love flows through your life transforming your mind and healing damaged emotions.  For the first time in your life, you dare to call God your Father, and you have a relationship with Him based on love. God has been waiting to perform a miracle in your life since the day you were born.  Faith takes the handcuffs off God so the miracles can begin.

Hear the Word of God and have Faith!

Feeling #Unappreciated For Your Efforts? Don’t Tap Out! God Sees You!

..be ye stedfast, unmovable  always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord (1 Cor 15:58)~ You can be the most reliable, the most trustworthy, the most loyal, the most truthful. You can be the best friend, spouse, family member or employee – and yet, those who are blessed through you don’t seem to even care – they just are who they are and you can’t convince nor impress them of your sincerity or intent! Reality is: people are not always going to appreciate you and in fact many will flat out disrespect you no matter what you do. Yes it’s frustrating when you give your best, love your best, help any way you can; and people just blow you off. But God appreciates it and HE will certainly make good of your works because you are the tangible conduit of His love! You are indeed one of the ways He blesses other people! But Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not (Gal 6:9). As hard and as exhausting and frustrating as it is, we can’t tap out, we can’t quit, we can’t let the other person turn us away from the love that God wants us to give; the blessings He wants us to share! Continue giving, loving, doing the right thing! Some of YOUR blessing comes from what you persevere to give! It does pay off, even though you might feel like it won’t! Don’t ever think He isn’t paying attention to your heart and your walk! Gods blessings won’t come THROUGH you without some of those blessings coming TO you!

…And God Said… and it was! What will be when YOU speak? #Faith –

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof (Prov 18:21)~ If you want to know where your life is headed; what you will be like in the next few years, listen to what you’re saying now! Are you speaking frustration and failure or are you speaking faith and favor? Be mindful of the words you speak, not just of yourself but to others! When we experience certain words and mindsets long enough, we start to live them. If you believe you are loved and you speak accordingly, you will live as if you are. If you believe and speak as if you are an outcast; a black sheep; an undesirable, you will carry yourself accordingly. So be careful what you pronounce!! – Rejection, disrespect, disassociation, dissolution and depression, fear, drama, confusion, unrealistic expectations…this is what the devil wants. YOUR words form YOUR perception of life. No one gets to decide the words that come out of your mouth except for you.

Look at Genesis! When God began the beginning –He ‘spoke’ all into being! And in His image, He created us and gave us a great creative power to impact life with what we speak! Therefore, your words have the power to set things in motion, good or bad … for you. They are little seeds that you plant in life. When your words are filled with faith, hope and promise then you’ll enjoy the fruit of them. But if they’re filled with discouragement, fear and other negative attitudes you won’t enjoy your life. Make your confessions personal and real, and allow God’s strength and power to move; to change things for the better. Stop releasing negative words into the atmosphere! Stop speaking death and using a toxic tongue! Grandma used to say if you can’t say nothin’ good, then don’t say nothin’ at all! WISDOM!!!!! Instead of saying what you’re not, say what you are:  Start saying, “I am”: “loved; blessed; able; healed; smart; gifted. I am everything God has called me to be!”  The average person speaks 18,000 words a day and spends about 20% of their life speaking!! That’s a heck of a vocabulary! Furthermore, You have a CHOICE when you speak! Your Words can shape your world!!! Knowing that YOU have the WORDS in you to make life what you want it to be, what do you have to say?

What Would You Do If You Had #NoFear ? –

Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life” (John 5:24). For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. (Rom 8:15)~ When we think about God, we think about Heaven, salvation, victory, triumph, strength, peace, joy, eternal life…the list goes on with all of these great and wonderful things that God brings us. Jesus promised us that by believing in God, who sent Him…believing in the Word He brings…we are free from the imprisonment of sin in our lives. Because you believe in Him, you are set free from the fear of death and can look forward to living forever with God in heaven.

Yet we always find ourselves in a position of basically saying ‘Lord, I do believe…but help my unbelief!’ Yes, we come to a point where as much as we believe in Him, we exhibit unbelief! That unbelief is our “fear”. Not the fear of dangers and harm to our person – but the fear of walking in what we claim to believe God for! How can we talk about all of the great promises of God and know all about the ‘finished’ work of Christ, yet be fearful to walk in the deliverance of them? Why do we let fear imprison us? We have been given the victory but we walk in the shame of losers! We want to know victory and greatness in life and it’s given to us, but we keep living our lives like where we used to be! We want to see things differently but we keep looking for and walking in more of the same and we eventually dread our lives because we think nothing ever changes…then it turns out that the only thing that DIDN’T change…was US! Those of us who do not love the lives we have are the ones who were afraid to change…our fear of what change might make us has imprisoned us in complacency and mediocrity!

Have you ever seen a team win a championship and go to the showers like they were the losers because they didn’t want to take the trophy they went all season for? No, they walked in the victory! The prison gates are open and we have been exonerated; yet we sit there in our same old position of imprisonment because we’re scared to change our pattern and walk out the door in that freedom we have! To expect great results, while never changing your actions is a recipe of consistent failure (and insanity). Experiencing that freedom and that new life you’re looking for comes from the walks of faith, to dare to be and do what you have never done before. Fear will cause you to become complacent and remain in a continual prison of mediocrity, never growing or becoming more than what you have always been. But when you walk in the faith of the belief in the Lord, you will find that renewed strength that gives you limitless LIFE under His freedom!

We are fearful to step out in faith because we think our lives will turn out different than we planned for. My friend, that is the GREATEST thing that could happen!!! God said “.. I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end (Jer 29:11)”; and “…my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways (Isa 55:8)”. In other words, when you walk in that victory God has given you and drop that fear of being different from your own plans…trust in Him with all your heart rather than your own understanding, your life WILL be different than YOU planned. It will be what HE planned! What would you do if you had no fear? Think about a time when you actually were bold enough and truly faced your fear…you’re still here aren’t you? You got through it! It felt liberating didn’t it? God did not give us that spirit of fear… let it go … in fact, send it packing…and be free…and be blessed!

Comparing & Complaining The Haves and Have-Nots Only Makes You a #Hater –

But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth (James 3:14)~  Do a survey of what you have: your home, your family, your job, your friends, your church, your health…your life… Now, how happy are you with it all? What if you had what I have, would you be happier, more or less than you are now? Would I be any happier with yours?  Do you really even know? We won’t even talk money, cars and clothes because that’s just material.

God has blessed us with so much, yet we still find a reason to complain. People who are ambitious for themselves (it’s all about “them”) often become bitter against and envious of those who have succeeded or are further along. Rather than rejoice in or at least be truly happy for the blessing that has come upon the person, some people are jealous; they may believe they are godlier, humbler, wiser, more informed, more helpful, more truthful, and more deserving of a large platform, a level of achievement, a material gain or other blessing.

Yes, we know them as haters! We all have probably been haters at some point. But why does what one person has or appears to have versus what we have even matter? Why not look at what YOU are blessed with, rather than feeling disturbed about what someone else has…like you deserved it and they didn’t! In reaction, haters criticize and oppose, they fabricate opinionated reasoning (and yes, lie) to minimize the blessing and create the assumption that the blessed person was somehow undeserving or unworthy; all as they elevate their own position and distract from their delay of blessing or achievement in the process and simultaneously recruit agreeing followers – Sometimes the easiest way to make noise and promote oneself is to become the “public” critic of someone else.

But lift up the rock of irrational, overblown, unreasonable criticism and you will see the roach of jealousy scurrying away from the light of truth. Those who live in malice, envy and contention, live in confusion and are liable to be provoked and hurried to any evil work. It’s really okay to be happy for someone else’s achievement, blessing or placement in God’s plan for them. Rather than compare and complain about what someone else has, is or has done, why not get out of what you see materially in someone’s hand; what they wear, drive, earn, spend and where they live; and focus on the plan God has for you? God has had an idea specifically for you since His decision to create you – Before He formed you in your mother’s womb, He specifically knew you and He knows the plans He has for you – plans for a hope and a future… If you will just concentrate on knowing Him and the power of His creation, the life and love He has in store for you…seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all of these things (not just or even necessarily material things!!!) will be added unto you! Despite what the world tries to do to you… Or how it makes you feel to see another’s blessing…remember, you have the providence of God and all the promises of the Gospel. What God has for you it is for YOU! Stop comparing and complaining! Don’t be a hater!

Don’t Be Ashamed By The Shameful – #Truth –

We who believe the Bible become lights that a sinful world does not want piercing its darkness. After all, the apostle Paul even wrote that Satan is the god of this fallen world (2 Cor. 4:4). So just by being witnesses for Christ and walking in His word, we remind this world of its guilt before God. And though we are by no means perfect ourselves, we are in the only Christ who paid for our sins. Therefore, being light in darkness is something we need never be ashamed of! Yes! There are antichrists (or enemies of Christ) alive and well everywhere today. And rather than making us ashamed or afraid, it should make us emboldened and encouraged that we are constantly seeing the prophetic words of Scripture being fulfilled right before our eyes! So, Christian, don’t fall for Satan’s ploys to make you feel ashamed of your religious beliefs because there are bad examples of religion in the world. The world loves to shame the believer by calling their expression of faith and values “shaming” (of all things). So NOW we are humiliated because the unrighteous (to God) non-believer feels humiliated when the Truth of God exposes them to themselves! The ultimate deflection by a guilty conscience! The Lord warned that the enemy would sow such tares among the true wheat (Matt. 13:24-30).

It would be far easier to get away with just being who we are and blending in with those of the world rather than standing out and having our difference from them show. We who represent Christ will be attacked very easily and comfortably by atheists and others who do not see Jesus Christ as Lord, because this fallen sinful world is their home, not ours; we’re on their turf. We’re not like them, and we don’t live like them although we live here with them, but because we’re washed in the blood of the Lamb, we are hated by the world. But once again, Scripture proves itself true, because Jesus said it would happen (see John 15:18-20). This world is not the home of the true Christian. If it were, then there would not be so many anti-Christians around. “Be of good cheer,” said Jesus, “For I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). And, therefore, so have we!!!

As You Pray For God’s #Blessing – Realize It’s GOD’s Way! –

Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, ‘Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh will be restored to you and you will be clean.’ But Naaman was furious and went away and said, ‘Behold, I thought, ‘He will surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper.’’(2 Kings 5:10-11)~~

God’s healing is not some magical incantation or illusionist trick and He doesn’t just go around changing us in a puff of smoke or catering to our whims because we call Him God! There must be an act of faith, often aside of our comfort zone and it may even put us in an out of character or undesirable condition.

Looking for a quick cure, Naaman came to Elisha and was told to bathe in the Jordan, never a river known for its clear waters!  This command filled Naaman with rage, and he shared his desire that the prophet just speak an incantation, wave his hand over the leprosy, and provide instant healing. Not only did he demand his healing but he insisted it should be done with a specific pomp and circumstance.

Instead here the rich man was told to enter into probably one of the dirtiest and most disgusting conditions he’d ever seen – a place he likely considered beneath him. Not only would he require faith but humility! Those who come to God must have faith in who He is and only when we are humbled in His presence, will God exalt us! Without faith we cannot please God but the smallest of such can move mountains. Without humility, we cannot see God for who He is because we are too busy seeing ourselves!

How often do we want to tell God how to do His business?  The old saying, “beggars can’t be choosers” fits well here.  Naaman (like many of us) forgot that he was the beggar, at the mercy of God Almighty.  Until Naaman could humble himself to take a step in faith, he would not find healing.

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble!
