Believers Get Lied On, Cheated, Talked About & Mistreated – #StandYourGround –

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. (Acts 16:16-18)~ Those who do good by drawing others to God and away from sin, may expect to be reviled as troublers of the world. A person who walks in confidence of God endures taunting and persecution because they are bold enough to say they believe. While they teach men to fear God, to believe in Christ, to forsake sin, and to live godly lives, they will be accused by the world of teaching bad customs. They will be put on the stage of society as strange or eccentric or accused of being some obscure radical. Their validity as a Christian will be put under the microscope and every fiber of their being tested for worldly exposure. It’s as if they must be as pure as Christ Himself to carry any level of trustworthiness.

Why is it that a person that outwardly expresses their love for Jesus is viewed as some ‘Jesus freak’; weirdo or strange being? Why is it that when we choose to differ our mindset than the typical man of the world, people are quick to point out that we are different and don’t stand with “the” crowd? Christ warned us of this very thing – that the world would hate us because of Him. We know the ‘world’ is at enmity with God – meaning those who are ‘friendly’ to the worldly way ultimately turn against the Godly way – because these two ‘ways’ are in conflict to each other. Satan is the god of the ‘worldly’ way so it’s guaranteed that your commitment to Christ always comes under persecution in the world. This is a sign that you are doing what God wants you to do. You are a threat to the enemy’s purpose.

Here’s what’s most interesting: those that persecute you many times believe what you believe but they are more afraid of looking like they stand with you than with the popular crowd. Their persecution of you is more about them than it is about you. Even Satan, though the father of lies, will declare the most important truths, when they can thereby serve his purposes. You can’t let this deter you. These circumstances are the enemy trying to manipulate and disorient you and make you question the very Word that is in you. If he can disconnect you from your commitment he will even take people that love you and use them against you. Stand your ground…don’t be passive… neither give place to the devil… but rebuke that evil and confront it head on. God will strengthen your commitment even though you’re under persecution! Resist the devil and he will flee from you!

The World Is On Cruise Control to Destruction; Take the Exit at Straight & Narrow Road #Repentance –

Gods Way or My Way

Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord; Shall they fall, and not arise? Shall they turn away, and not return? Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast deceit, they refuse to return. I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? Every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into battle. (Jeremiah 8:4-6). ~ People today are living sinful lives by choice. We deceive ourselves by acting as if there are no consequences. Many of us have lost perspective concerning God’s will for our lives and instead we look for ways to minimize sin through our own justification and understanding; We force our opposers to accept our ways by garnering the support of a socially like-minded constituency. We redefine wrongs as our own version of righteousness by changing the laws of the land by popular vote and we thumb our nose in the face of God in the process! Our consciousness of divine truth and precept is becoming more and more comatose with the passing days and we hold no regard or concern even for each other. We ignore the written Word of God and regard it as antiquated and irrelevant.

Even still, we enjoy the abundance of the means of His grace, we pray, have Bibles and ministers; but we have them in vain. People today look to be entertained by preachers of comfort and popularity rather than Truth…looking for the one that will tell us what we want to hear rather than what is beneficial for our life and eternity! That which flatters us in sin, consequently, flatters us into destruction, silencing our fears and complaints with “It’s no big deal” and “All is well”. This ‘feel good’ doctrine promises peace when there is no peace; and thus we are encouraging each other in committing evil; but in the day of Visitation we will have no refuge to flee unto. When we fall or realize that we are headed in the wrong direction, it only makes sense that we would get up or change directions. Don’t get to the end of the road your life and look back asking ‘what brought this ruin?’

All is not lost. You are only lost if you refuse to take the road to eternity (God’s Word of Promise) and take the reroute at Repentance Drive and follow Redemption Highway on Home! The road to eternity in most cases can be found by simply making a U-turn! But traveling it requires faith and focus for it is straight and narrow! Drive prayerfully!

If You’re Going to Give With That Attitude, You Might As Well Keep It! #CheerfulGiver –

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. (2 Cor 9:7)~~ When God gives to us He gives His best… And is happy to do it. But let us ask something of each other.  Sure, we may give but not without shortage of belittling the one who asked of us. We give with an attitude because we want them to know how they’ve “put us out” or inconvenienced us or that they somehow make us feel obligated. When we give under those stipulations, the question arises as to whether or not we truly want to share the blessings we have – and whether we are giving truly from the heart with peace and gladness to do so. Some of us act like giving of ourselves, financially or not…yes, even the non-financial type of giving, is a burden; and our response to it is quite ungrateful of our own benefit and disrespectful to our divine benefactor!

Imagine if God ‘let us have it’ like we do each other when we seek His love and provision! What if His Word constantly reminded us of how much we depend on Him and ask of Him and need of Him – what kind of God would our Lord be? There’s nothing worse than having someone give to you and their demeanor and response to you is as if you were such an inconvenience and bother and that you’re ‘lucky’ they felt like giving to you! It’s not as giving weakened their own stature, but that the very thought of giving puts them out so! News flash: God doesn’t NEED you to give the money He blessed you with the ability to earn, He doesn’t NEED the joy that the efforts of your skills (that He gave you), time or words can put into someone else’s life.

But remember– What you release into the world, you will receive back…and you will reap MORE than what you sow.. This is God’s guarantee! And what you hold back, will be held back from you. See, God’s blessing is about overflow…the more He can get through you, the more He will get TO you. And this is not just about money… Want more joy, peace or love in your life? Try giving some away! God won’t let you tap out! You will never run dry of the fruits of the Spirit because God will keep it flowing to you! Now if God can’t get a blessing through you … What if He were to stop sending it TO you? Next time there’s an opportunity to put something good into someone’s life’ just remember, the better you put into it, the better you will receive through it!

Blocking Out The #Truth Doesn’t Cancel Out It’s Existence! –

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Heb 4:12)~~

We all want people to say nice things about us.. We all love statements of affirmation, encouragement, empowerment and self improvement. We will take to heart statements from scholars and create monuments of wisdom based on the statements of the most controversial of men; even if it means we shun the Truth of God, especially if that Truth convicts or exposes something within us. But all the nice, warm fuzzy, feel good cliché quoting does nothing but trap us in a euphoria of false security and enslaves us to the ways of the world.

But in the Word, that two-edged sword cuts away all of the unprofitable that is on us… Rightfully dividing Word and fables, we shall know the TRUTH and be set free. And Jesus answered and said to them:“ Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many (Matt 24:4-5); Jesus meant for us to beware of the many churches and religious leaders claiming to represent Christ (calling themselves “Christian”) leading people with ‘feel good’ and ‘prosperity’ doctrine, but not teaching the Bible accurately. Some are insincere and have wrong motives. Others are sincere but they are sincerely wrong! Some will even “show great [miraculous] signs and wonders to deceive” (Matthew 24:24). It will be extremely easy to be misled and confused if we aren’t continually turning to the Bible to see what is true and what is false. Study to shew thyself approved!

There are many who would have you believe differently, turning the truth of God into a lie, justifying worldly and even worse, their own ways; even unbelief with “human” rationalization and speaking to those with itching ears, that would rather hear man’s doctrine of Only say “nice” things, even at the expense of the truth; Only do what makes you happy and what feels good and what YOU want – over that of God’s truth which carries a greater promise but also comes with a foundation of responsibility; standards and a stern truth that opposes the mindset of worldly doctrine!

God’s Word tells us that in our days, we will have plenty of trials and tribulations (Job 14:1) but IN HIM is where our victory lies because He has won it already (John 16:33). To deny, hide, ignore, suppress or otherwise run from the Truth of God; smoothing over the rough stuff, the responsibilities and the rules so that we ‘feel good’, have what we want and are happy all the time; is a very dangerous thing! God’s Word is sharp and designed to cut away that which is wrong in us but keep that which builds us stronger in HIm. That doesn’t mean it will always make us happy and give us pleasure, riches and worldly prosperity. But if it means I’m right in Him, then cut me to the bone! Friend, Don’t be misled because you don’t want to hear the truth! Not reading the book of Revelation won’t keep the end from coming! You can run but you can’t hide!

You Don’t HAVE to Run With the Crowd #BeNotConformed –

break away from the crew

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed (Prov 13:20)~  I guess another way of putting it…Birds of a feather flock together. Regardless of the way you word it, the outcome still means the same. One of the biggest challenges of a person’s life is peer pressure. Growing up, we were (hopefully) taught how important it was to be around the right people to avoid ending up in the wrong place. Those of us who listened to our ‘teachers’ weren’t often in the popular crowd! But I’ve learned (time and time again) that God’s plan for our progress is rarely popular (or convenient). But I’ve also learned that He blesses those who are willing to do and align with what others won’t… Him! Therefore I’m energized when I think on Romans 12:2 (be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind) because the world makes us think we’re supposed to be this way or that way and we look for people that are the way we think we are supposed to be and get in deep with them…just because everybody’s doing it doesn’t mean it’s right for you…or right at all! But in a renewed mindset I know that it’s okay to not necessarily “fit in” with the crowd. When we stand different from “the crowd” and stand for the things of God, we walk with a different crowd…we adopt a truly foundational element of walking in wisdom. With this wisdom we experience some amazing things with God. When we choose to align with the right people, it results in us ending up in the right places. It’s not only about who you know, but who you keep company with!

#Overwhelming …That Word That God Pours Into Us –

Gods Love For Us

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Heb 4:12)~ Every word of God is pure, and this inspired knowledge can save us from a lifetime of grief. The Bible is as relevant today as ever, regardless of what skeptics and enemies of truth say. The important issue is whether we will heed the advice, gain the knowledge, watch for the warnings avoid dangerous conduct, and come to know God and the power of His love, the significance of His grace, mercy and forgiveness and the reality of His life within us. His inspired proverbs should be applied spiritually. Let every believer in Jesus Christ make sure he is a gentle, tender, and virtuous soul for the Lord of glory, without contending, questioning, or whining against Him, His word, or His ministers. He chose you for His pleasure, so do all you can every day to be that pleasing and loving subject to the King. For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in Heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded (and overwhelmed) in (His) love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to KNOW the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God (Eph 3:14-19). God Bless you today!

You Can Complain About Yesterday or You Can #Choose How Today Goes –

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing (Phil 3:13-16)~~ Today I can choose to carry over the upsets and negativities of yesterday, but I woke up early today, excited about all that I get to do before the day is over. Indeed I have responsibilities to fulfill because today, like every day before, I get to choose the kind of day I am going to have. Today, I can choose to complain because the weather may be rainy, or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free. Today, I can choose to grumble about my health, or I can rejoice that I am alive. Today, I can choose to be regretful about missed opportunities from yesterday, or I can seize the moment and take advantage of the new opportunities that today brings. Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping. What today will be like for me is up to me, and I am determined to make the most of it..! Yesterday belongs to history and there’s absolutely nothing you can do with or about it! Today is yours…what will you do with it?

When You Speak Your Piece; Speak God’s #Peace –

My mouth shall speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart shall give understanding (Ps 49:3)~ We have a choice every time we engage another person, especially in the heat of an intense situation. In our human flesh we seek the vindication of giving someone a piece of our mind and while in some cases a strong conversation may be warranted, in most cases it’s very apparent that we probably need every ‘piece’ of our mind we can hold on to because of what ends up coming out of our mouth. As we deal with each other, we must take into account… each other. We must seek to approach the other person with an understanding heart because the situation we’re in may be their plea for the help of wisdom and if we are in a heated situation and just let our words fly off of our tongue without the discernment of wisdom, it truly shows in the enunciation that follows.

We pray that God gives us wisdom and the mind of Christ; and that He creates in us a clean heart; for out of abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks! Therefore if our heart is right, what we speak must be life-giving, fruitful and uplifting. The cleanliness of heart and the wisdom of mind filtering what we speak, we can actually give a ‘peace’ of the mind of Christ rather than a ‘piece’ of the mind of man – and the outcome of that situation will be very different than it could have been! The tongue carries the power of life and death – When you speak your piece, speak His peace!

People Challenging You? Go to Your Place of #Peace –

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men (Rom 12:18)~ It’s easy to be at peace with people you don’t know. It can be as simple as acknowledging their presence with a ‘nod’ or smile or casual greeting. But with people we know, things get very different. Peace in relationships is an important thing, whether it’s with family, friends or co-workers. When we don’t have this peace, the mere thought of a person can drive us into a new category of instability; drive our blood pressure through the roof and literally throw our whole day off. Our minds will ramble with thoughts that consume and disturb our every rational thought. Everyone has different personalities and emotions. Sometimes we feel happy, and other times we feel angry. How a person is feeling however should not change our peaceful state.

Now YOU can’t control what the other person does or how they act and it’s easy to get out of sorts when they act in a way that disturbs your peace. But you can control YOUR reaction and you have the power within you to maintain your peace. If they are antagonizing things, God will take care of the negativity that person is creating; for the vengeance is His (Rom 12:19). But as fair warning, keep in mind that your reacting with a good cussing out or even worse only serves to give God a reason to deal with you. I don’t know about you but I cringe at the thought of God taking ANY type of vengeance on me!

Getting along with those in your circle may seem like a lot of work some days. But a peaceful space is a true treasure, something worth working for and defending! Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good (Rom 12:21) – DO THE WORK it takes to keep the peace, not trying to fix anyone nor straighten them out, but managing your own actions! And when it starts to get the best of you…take five and get into God’s presence! Be careful (anxious) for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Phil 4:6-7) – May God bless you and keep you … in PEACE!

#NoWorries God Can Handle This… And So Can You! –

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation (Hab 3:17-18)~ When we see troubles approach, stress can do a number on us; from putting up walls of personal defense to outright panic. A good hope through grace is founded in Holy fear. When things happen in life, we must look back upon the experiences we’ve come through before, and observe what great things God has done for us, and so we can not only recover from our stresses, but be filled with Holy joy.

We must resolve to delight and triumph in the Lord; for even when all is gone, God is not gone. Those who, when things are great and rich in life enjoyed God in all, when emptied and poor, can still enjoy all in God. They can sit down upon the heap of the ruins of their creature- comforts, and even then praise the Lord, as the God of their salvation, the salvation of the soul, and rejoice in Him as such, in their greatest distresses. Joy in the Lord is especially good to us when we meet with losses and crosses in the world. Even when earthly provisions are cut off, we may be supplied by the graces and comforts of God’s Spirit. Then we shall be strong for spiritual warfare and work, and with enlargement of heart may run the way of His commandments, and outrun our troubles. And we shall be successful in spiritual undertakings.

What began our times with fear and trembling, will end with joy and triumph. When a negative depressing thought pops into your mind, count your blessings, and continue counting them, until your thoughts move in a positive direction. Positive thoughts restore positive perspective. Take positive action! It is the only appropriate response to negative thoughts. They are not welcome, and they don’t stand a chance when you take positive action. Keep your head up! God can handle this…and SO CAN YOU!
