As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more (Ps 103:15-16); Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. (Job 14:1-2)~~ How short is man’s life, and uncertain! The flower of the garden is commonly more choice, and will last the longer, for being sheltered by the garden-wall, and the gardener’s care; but the flower of the field, to which life is here compared, is not only withering in itself, but exposed to the cold blasts, and liable to be cropped and trod on by the beasts of the field. Such is man. God considers this, and pities him; let him consider it himself. My friend, what are you making of your life with the days you have? Life is indeed too short to live your life in negativity, unproductiveness, drama and dysfunction. YOU have the ability to make the most, the best and the happiest of your life while you have it and be faithful in what you seek to experience in eternity. Anything unproductive in your life, drama you’re dealing with, old angers and grudges you are holding on to…let it go and live your days in the peace God intends for you. All too often we miss our joy because we’re so focused on our junk! Life is TOO SHORT!!! Our days are few and troublesome enough… but we also have a promise of a hope and a future (Jer 29:11); and that should be the source of our joy!
