We’ve got it all figured out don’t we? Think Again! #Deceived –

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Prov 16:25)~ Think back to a time when your parents gave you an instruction about how to do something, but then you went your own way, knowing what they’ve told you. There may have been times where things “seemed” to work out, but more than likely you can probably remember a consequence that made you kind of regret turning away from what you were told – am I right about it?  It’s certainly bigger than just you and your parents… but that whole rebellious mindset gets us in a LOT of trouble.  The enemy blinds the eyes of unbelievers, causing absurd reasonings in matters of religion. Whether men seek happiness in worldly things, or run into unbelief, superstition, or any false system, they feed on ashes… remnants of that which has been “created”, used and reshaped by man. The ideals of people and society have changed the truth of God into a lie, and people have come to worship and serve their own ways more than the Word of God (Rom 1:25). They have convinced themselves the Bible is foolish, hopelessly outdated, or written by religious fanatics. They love their own thoughts so much they will not accept correction from God nor His ambassadors! A heart deceived by pride, love of sin, and departure from God, turns us aside from His holy truth and worship. It’s gotten so that people hold fast to the ‘lie’ as the best treasure. Today’s  hearts are set upon the wealth of the world and its pleasures. We must be careful to what we hold dear to our heart and soul! If we trust to outward professions and doings, as if those would save us, we deceive ourselves. He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand? (Isa 44:20)

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil (Prov 3:7)

All Isn’t Lost! God Will Always Take You Back. Be #Restored –

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. (Ps 51:1-12)~~ All of us have sinned and fallen short of His glory. There is not one of us that is beyond the guilt of our transgressions. There is also not one transgression that God is not already aware of. The guilt of things I’ve done and the person I’ve been is enough to make me run and hide in shame for the rest of my days. But the glorious thing about all of this is, as we own up to the truth about ourselves, and realize how much we have actually strayed away, God Is already telling us to just come on back! As we are confessing ourselves to Him and HIM only, HE IS REMINDING US THAT WE CAN ALWAYS COME BACK! No matter how bad it is or was or how long it’s been – He stands with open arms to you! There is nothing too great for His mercies; too hard to forgive; or too far gone beyond His righteousness. God requires perfect righteousness And in Jesus- this we have. His love for us is truly without limit! My friend, open up to God today and experience the restored joy of His free salvation in you!

God Gave You #Victory So Why Act Like a Loser?

Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life” (John 5:24). For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. (Rom 8:15)~ When we think about God, we think about Heaven, salvation, victory, triumph, strength, peace, joy, eternal life…the list goes on with all of these great and wonderful things that God brings us. Jesus promised us that by believing in God, who sent Him…believing in the Word He brings…we are free from the imprisonment of sin in our lives. Because you believe in Him, you are set free from the fear of death and can look forward to living forever with God in heaven. Yet we always find ourselves in a position of basically saying ‘Lord, I do believe…but help my unbelief!’ Yes, we come to a point where as much as we believe in Him, we exhibit unbelief! That unbelief is our “fear”. Not the fear of dangers and harm to our person – but the fear of walking in what we claim to believe God for! How can we talk about all of the great promises of God and know all about the ‘finished’ work of Christ, yet be fearful to walk in the deliverance of them? Why do we let fear imprison us? We have been given the victory but we walk in the shame of losers! We want to know victory and greatness in life and it’s given to us, but we keep living our lives like where we used to be! We want to see things differently but we keep looking for and walking in more of the same and we eventually dread our lives because we think nothing ever changes…then it turns out that the only thing that DIDN’T change…was US! Those of us who do not love the lives we have are the ones who were afraid to change…our fear of what change might make us has imprisoned us in complacency and mediocrity! Have you ever seen a team win a championship and go to the showers like they were the losers because they didn’t want to take the trophy they went all season for? No, they walked in the victory! The prison gates are open and we have been exonerated, yet we sit there in our same old position of imprisonment because we’re scared to change our pattern and walk out the door in that freedom we have! To expect great results, while never changing your actions is a recipe of consistent failure (and insanity). Experiencing that freedom and that new life you’re looking for comes from the walks of faith, to dare to be and do what you have never done before. Fear will cause you to become complacent and remain in a continual prison of mediocrity, never growing or becoming more than what you have always been. But when you walk in the faith of the belief in the Lord, you will find that renewed strength that gives you limitless LIFE under His freedom! We are fearful to step out in faith because we think our lives will turn out different than we planned for. My friend, that is the GREATEST thing that could happen!!! God said “.. I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end (Jer 29:11)”; and “…my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways (Isa 55:8)”. In other words, when you walk in that victory God has given you and drop that fear of being different from your own plans…trust in Him with all your heart rather than your own understanding, your life WILL be different than YOU planned. It will be what HE planned! What would you do if you had no fear? Think about a time when you actually were bold enough and truly faced your fear…you’re still here aren’t you? You got through it! It felt liberating didn’t it? God did not give us that spirit of fear… let it go … in fact, send it packing…and be free…and be blessed!

There is No Future in a Past Mindset. #MoveOn –

Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old (Isa 43:18)~~ Good or bad, one of the biggest adversaries of our mind is our memory of the past. In the good, we cling to things we loved and we try to retain that part of that era of our lives. It gets tough though when circumstances that made those good memories possible change and we have to fight for what once was. We get so nostalgic about things and now they’re not what they used to be… what a disappointment! What an impact that has on us! In the bad, we hold onto grudges of things or people that hurt us before and we keep giving the devil free advertising to come forward with us, making our present and future experiences suffer the wrath of our past hurt. We are so dysfunctionally connected to our past that we can’t have a good life today for being so ‘clingy’ to what was; wishing the good thing never ended and trying to keep things like they were. While we eventually move past the longing for former good days, being content with feeling blessed by the happiness they brought us, the same can’t be said about getting past the pain of a bad experience. We fall into the trap of staying mad at a pain that is no longer affecting us and consequently the memory of that pain is strong enough to even keep us from loving! The strongest force in the universe is love and the enemy knows when he stops us from loving, he has a blank slate to not only us, but everyone and everything about us. Friends we have to learn to remember our past and learn from it but also believe in the power of God’s love in us and faith in Him that today and tomorrow will be okay, regardless of yesterday.  We can’t be so focused on what was that we can’t see what is and what can be! God says: Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? (Isa 43:19). Stop bringing up what was and giving life to that which is dead and move on….you can’t keep what was and you can’t change it! But – You have the ability to re-create it or to heal from it. Enjoy today and be blessed with right now and the future. There is so much that you are missing and letting get away by holding onto your past! God says the new thing shall spring forth. Our past is not something we should be carrying but that we should use it to move forward while we get better as a result of it. Good or bad, it should make us better, not bitter. We must have faith that things will be okay rather than fear that forgiving and releasing the bad will expose us to more bad or that the changes from the good cannot be good still. When we keep holding on to whatever past we have, refusing to grow and heal, we take away the significance of the blessings that are in our hand for today and tomorrow. Yes, we literally block our own blessings! God put the keys in your hand, gave you all the approval you need to drive and even placed you in the driver’s seat with a clear road, the ride is running but you won’t get in gear. You’re still saying you just can’t do it! You have to engage to move on. Things don’t just GET better with time, GOD sets things in order but YOU have to make the move! The past is what it is … “passed”… and it CAN’T HURT YOU unless you decide you’re gonna try to live in it today. It doesn’t work like that! Look, I’ve had some good days and I’ve had some hills to climb, but I am faithful that good or bad, what was in my past is my catalyst to SPRING FORTH!  For the bad things, I’ve learned to forgive AND move on, because harbored hatred hinders healing…read that again: forgive AND move on…you must do both!  For the good things, I am inspired that God, who began that good work in me, will continue it, not end it… because His gifts are irrevocable… As I move forward until the day of the return of Jesus Christ!

Time to #ManUp and Grow Up! –

At some point in our lives, we must grow up from our childish ways. Like the Bible says: “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things” (1 Cor 13:11). When we were children we did childish things – we did silly things and acted like….children. Responsibility in life was far from our thoughts and we lived (what we thought) were happy and carefree lives, not caring or worrying about a thing because typically an adult handled things for us. We could just be who we were and it didn’t matter because it was how a child should be and we had the world by the tail! But then we ‘aged’ into adulthood. There are many of us that while our ‘age’ in years says we are an adult, we still act like children and there are many of us, although we have accepted Christ and claim to be of the ‘saved’ family, we will embrace the ways of our corrupt nature. This corrupt nature is called a man; like the human body, it is of diverse parts, supporting and strengthening one another. Sinful desires are deceitful lusts; they promise us happiness, but render us more miserable; and bring us to destruction, if not subdued and mortified. These ways therefore must be put off, as an old garment, a filthy garment; they must be subdued and mortified. Yes, we must GROW UP!

But it is not enough to just shake off corrupt principles; we must move in repentance of them and replace them with gracious ones; putting on the new man. The term “By the new man” is the indication of the new nature, the new creature, directed by a new principle, even regenerating grace, enabling a man to lead a new life seeking in Christ, righteousness and holiness. It’s not an easy thing to do, of course, changing our minds, changing our beliefs, changing our ways — but we don’t have to do it on our own. God will help, if we ask. All we must do is decide we want to change our minds. We will never just BE righteous or holy on our own, but in Him we become these things. As we grow in Him, we become the “new man” (2 Cor 5:17). For the actions we DO take though, the part of growing up that WE must execute: Changing our minds—to align our beliefs with those of God—is one way we step out of our old selves and into our new selves. It’s one way we begin to become the men God intends us to become.

But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness (Eph 4:20-24)

Just a Little Bit of Fearless #Faith Moves Mountains-

…If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you (Matt 17:20)~~ It is good for us to distrust ourselves and our own strength. In our abilities and ways, we concern ourselves with those things that we see as limitations. So much so that many times we stress out over things we think about when we’re trying to succeed in life. We literally start doubting and losing the very foundations of our faith because of things we think about as challenges to us. Our obstacles in life are not physical artifacts (literal mountains) that tangibly impact us, but more about the thoughts and fears in our minds (that seem bigger than anything we could overcome)! This is the most prominent devilish attack…The extraordinary power of Satan must not discourage our faith, but quicken us to more earnestness in praying to God for the increase of it. By faith, we can overcome those fears…not in an embattled standoff, but bringing our very thoughts captive to the word of Christ; to means by which Satan’s strongholds in the soul are beaten down. When you walk in this faith in the Lord, He keeps in perfect peace the mind that is stayed on Him; because that mind trusts in Him (Isa 26:3). When you praise the Lord for His hand on your life, He clears that obstacle from your mind (moves the “mountain”) and rewards your faith…you are no longer held hostage by that obstacle…For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear (Rom 8:15); For God hath not given us the spirit of fear (2 Tim 1:7)…Friend, go forward FEARLESS in FAITH today, knowing that God has made the way for you and He has made your path clear…moving that mountain out of your way!!

Don’t Get the Big Head – It’s Not About You #GodDidIt –

And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me (2 Cor 12:7), The whole point here again is that we are not self-promoting …exalted more than we should be in our own abundance and we get ‘the big head’ about who we are, what we do and what we have…but that we are kept on an even keel and that we grow and mature in great wisdom as we are blessed; and that when we are exalted, it is not through the arrogance and self-promotion of our own works which frequently fail, but the incomparable work of God! It is when we humble ourselves that He exalts us!
