Shhhh… Listen to God’s #StillSmallVoice –

And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. (1 Kings 19:11-12)~~ The clashing cymbals of our failures and the loud trumpeting of our successes can drown out what we are looking for to bless and guide our lives. We’re running, always in some activity and some form of ‘busy-ness’ – trying to succeed – trying to solve life’s issues – trying to figure it all out; doing this, listening to that, being here but trying to get there… and all the while, God is blessing us but we never see it! Why? Because we’re so busy hearing all of the hustle and bustle of life that we never “hear” what we should be listening to. We are constantly looking for God’s interaction with us – that big, huge, monumental blessing that would instantly change our lives. But with all of the noise going on around us, we miss out on God’s still small voice. So often we miss our blessings because we are looking for the big things when God is speaking through small things. It’s time for us to quiet our hearts to listen for Him as we meditate on His Word. There is SO much that God wants each of us to know about Him and how He loves us but we have to stop for a moment and just be at peace with letting Him have things! God talks to those of calm heart & mind, you will hear nothing, unless you meet God in tranquil surroundings. Stop keeping up all that noisy busy-ness, going back and forth and listening to portions of this truth and that lie. Stop facing all of your life’s challenges with whining fussing and complaining. Psalm 46:10 reminds us to “be still” and know that He is God.
