For as he THINKS in his heart, so is he (Prov 23:7)~ The world says that image is everything, and if you want to change your life, you first need to change your image. The world’s recipe for change says you need to change your wardrobe, toothpaste, hairstyle, hair color, and wear colored contact lenses. And while you’re at it, a trip to the tanning salon would also be a big plus. And then some augmentation here and a little tucking there would definitely be in order. And don’t forget a face lift that would put a permanent smile on your face. Now you have to shop here and party there and being part of this organization and that group; drive this car, wear these clothes and live in that neighborhood. And you only associate with these kinds of people and don’t be seen with this or without that. The menu of possible changes is as big as your checkbook and at the end of the day, the checkbook is the only thing that really changes! You are still the same ‘YOU’! Too often we look for change in all the wrong places. That’s why we have such a hard time making positive change happen. The world can’t give us the change in life that we really need. Let this MIND be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Phil 2:5). In Christ we have the power to change our lives for the better. It is here that a river of positive change will flow through your life. The MIND is the door through which we enter the world of positive change. In order to have a new life, we need a new way of thinking. Everything we put into our MIND is important, because it affects who we are. When we put in good things, life improves. Put in bad things, life becomes worse. We can change who we are by changing what we put into our MIND. When we change our MIND, we change our life. This law of change never fails. Positive transformation isn’t an accident; it’s something we do on purpose. You can become a positive person by putting positive things into your MIND. Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Rom 12:2). Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK on these things (Phil 4:8).
