Be #Patient With Me – #Perfection is a #Process ->

process of Perfection

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ (Phil 1:6) ~~ So often we get ourselves distraught in believing that as Christians we are supposed to have this aura of perfection about us. That we are supposed to live a totally perfect and sin-free life. And because we don’t and in fact CAN’T, we feel like we are not ‘good enough’ to call ourselves Christians. Look, if you are a non-smoker and you walk through a smoke filled room, you will come out smelling like a burnt pack of Kool Milds! Yet you’re still a non-smoker, no matter what the world may say otherwise. Even though you smell like the designated smoking section on the outside, on the inside your body functions like the non-smoking section. The same can be said about our walk in Christianity… we will be affected by our surroundings…we will be impacted by what we see, hear and experience in our lives and these things will cause us to be less than perfect… on the outside… even in what we do. This does not make us” non-Christian, it just confirms our humanity. But God works on us still…He creates IN us a clean heart and righteous spirit and through our relationship with Him, in His time, it happens. Our growth in Him is a continuous progressive work… Meaning there is always something going on in us; a PROCESS, bringing us closer and closer to Him. Don’t ever think you’re supposed to just BE perfect from the beginning of your acceptance of Him. What you are doing when you accept Him as your savior is you are accepting the workmanship PROCESS of His hand on you. It is God that MAKES us perfect over time and through HIS perfect works, not the result of our ‘galant efforts’ toward perfection. And there’s more reality: this is not an instantaneous transformation from sinner to saint. Look, God gives us our example in Genesis 1 in that He took six days of PROCESS to complete creation before He called it all PERFECTION (And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good – Gen 1:31) This PROCESS in us will continue all the days of our lives until Christ returns… And God will look at us and see His Son in us… And AT THAT POINT we will be PERFECT in His sight. Until then, be open to His work on you in you and through you. Don’t become distressed about your stumbles in life, just GET UP!! Don’t become idle in your progressive growth and love toward Him… Give no place to the devil…and know who you are in the Lord.. you are a child of God..a friend of God! An heir to eternal life and an ambassador of Heaven. One day at a time, step by step, gradually and progressively…. Walk in THAT! Be Blessed!
