We live in a world that is hungry for so many things. We see people that are hungry for fame, position, power and riches. But God is always looking for people who are hungry for God. Jesus said “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35). This is our invitation to come to him. Jesus said that the one who comes to Him would He by no means cast away. In fact, Jesus also said “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled” (Matt 5:6). You never get to a point in God when you will be so full that you will not need Him anymore. Like how your natural appetite works, you have to eat when you get hungry but that doesn’t mean that you will not get hungry again. When you are hungry you eventually eat to satisfy hunger. While God is always satisfying us, He is also continually increasing our hunger and thirst for more of Him. More you hunger and thirst for Him, the more will He reveal Himself to you and the more you will yearn for Him. But we will never ever be frustrated when we hunger and thirst for The Lord Jesus. As we hunger for Him more, He will fill us more. He will reveal Himself to us more and more as we long for Him. There is simply nothing more satisfying as the knowledge of who God is. Do you have Hunger and thirst for the Lord? As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? (Ps 42:1-2)
